I am looking for a company that is passionate about Ruby, Rails, Community, and Life in General.
Sound like your company? Find out more...
It looks like we have something in common!
I am currently looking to join a Rails team where I can contribute to building web apps that strengthen business and community.
I have been on Rails since May 2005 and have enjoyed growing in the framework and the beautiful language it's written in.
Take a look around and, if you like what you see, feel free to send me an email or give me a call at 469.226.9488. I look forward to hearing from you.
P.S. I know the Web 2.0 design stuff is a little lot over the top. Honestly, I'm a programmer and only dabble in design. I've just always wanted to put one of those cool badges on a site. Please don't hold it against me! :)

August 2005 - PresentMcSpadden Technology Inc. website
- I founded Mcspadden Technology in August 2005 and incorporated in March 2006. The business is built around helping small businesses get going on the web. This usually means getting an initial web presence online and then finding additional ways to use the internet to meet the goals of the business. Read more about my MTech projects and experience

While trying to get my business off the ground, I worked with Trabian as a subcontractor and part-time employee.
During my time with them, I was able to jump-start the move of their CMS from Java to Rails, contribute to several site launches, and assist in several other fun and exciting projects.
Some of the sites I worked on include: Stanford FCU, MCT CU, and Lower East Side People's FCU
In addition to RoR, HTML, and CSS work, I also did Flash development for Trabian. My Flash work includes: Houston FCU Lobby Presentation (The lobby version is on a 50" plasma!) and The Credit Union Game.
I really enjoy working with these guys and contributing to the impact they have on the Credit Union industry. -

Another opportunity that emerged during my "start-up" time was with Flexx Systems. I worked downtown with one of their clients, creating a .NET app for their internal status sheets.
This app would not only be used internally but also by the company's client base, including the likes of 7-Eleven, AMD, and Blackberry.
During development I was not only able to build the app to specs, but also introduce their (one-man) team to some ajax concepts and implement them into the app. Overall, it was a good .NET refresh, good exposure to the downtown scene, and a great environment to work in.

- Resume
While this site serves as my primary resume, I have kept up a .doc resume for the last 10 years that I'm pretty fond of. You can download the most up-to-date version here.
The .doc has always been good to me. However, while preparing this site, I discovered a newer format that I really dig, hResume. hResume is a microformat built to standardize the way resume information is distributed across the web and between applications. I've looked into microformats several times before and think their potential is huge. (Like RSS huge.) With that in mind, I thought this would be a great place to give my first microformat a whirl.
(Special thanks to the people at the hResume Project. Their hResume Creator was a great jump start!)
